Three Coat Systems
Three coat systems are comprised of a primer coat, which provides adhesion to the base substrate, a midcoat layer that provides durability, and a final topcoat layer that is exclusively for food release.

Internal Reinforcing Technology
For the last 10 years, a key way that the durability of 3-coat systems is enhanced is by utilizing “internally reinforcing” technology. An internal reinforcement is a very small, very hard particle that (based on the specific formula) is added to one, two, or three layers of the coating. These tiny reinforcements (titanium, tungsten, aluminum oxide, diamond) can help absorb the impact of metal utensils during cooking to a limited degree.
